First ‘I’ stands for Image.
As we know a CA has assured image in the society, we reached out to all sections of the society to make
sure awareness of our profession’s contribution to Nation Building Process. We tried to reach out to
businessmen, other professionals in the society and most importantly to common man. As we
demonstrate our efforts to them, we tried to understand their requirements and expectations from us
and act upon it.
In lines with this recently we interacted with following stakeholders:

To understand the expectation from Stakeholders and demonstrate our efforts we interacted with

Abhishek Dhamne , Chairman of Pune ICAI has participated and promoted Government initiatives amongst the Businessmen,
Professionals and Common men as follows:
1. Vivaad se Vishwas: Various public meets were arranged for awareness spreading across the State
of Maharashtra.
2. New GST Return: Informative Seminars and Hands-on program were arranged for members to
create awareness about the same.
3. Atma Nirbhar Bharat: Various Discussion seminars were arranged for members at Large on Atma
Nirbhar Bharat.
4. Sashkat Panchayat: Interactive Meet was arranged with Shri. Hasan Mushrif, Hon. Rural
Development Minister of Maharashtra.
5. Service Cell Meeting: Pune ICAI has active Participation in Service Cell Meetings arranged by State
GST and Central GST Departments.
6. Interaction with Chamber of Commerce: Pune ICAI has been interacting with various Chamber of
Commerce such as Maratha Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, Lagu Udyog
Bharti, Western Maharashtra Tax Practitioner to understand expectations from CAs.
7. Blood Donation Camps: Various Blood Donation Camps were arranged in awake of COVID 19.
8. Contribution to PM Cares and CM Cares Funds: Members of Pune ICAI contributed whopping
amount of Rs. 16 Lakhs towards PM Cares and CM Cares Funds.
9. Face Less Assessments: Knowledge imparting was do7ne for Members regarding Faceless
Assessment implemented by Income Tax Department.
10. CSR Activities: More than 3500 Essential Products kits distributed to needy people in association
with Global Indian Foundation, distributed Tilgul to Police people.
11. Swachh Bharat: Conducted the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan drive to clean the largest bus depot in
Pune.
12. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan: As a committed partner in nation building, Pune ICAI actively participate
and support various Government initiatives. Distributed stationary kit (comprising of a folder,
notebook, pencil, sharpener, eraser and pen) to the underprivileged students of primary schools
on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ji.
13. Felicitation of Corona Warriors: Felicitated frontline workers such as Doctors, Nurses, Municipal
Workers & Police Person who have been battling during the Covid-19 pandemic.
14. I Love ICAI: Installed “I❤ICAI” signage at the entrance of branch premises to build the Image of
our profession.
15. MOU with University of Pune: Historic MOU for collaboration of Activities was entered with
University of Pune.
16. We Care: Visited some of the senior members those who have crossed their Age of 75 years to
come together and pay our respects to our seniors.
17. Exams Video: ICAI successfully conducted exams across centers in India as well abroad during
this pandemic. Pune ICAI has conceptualized a Video demonstrating the efforts of ICAI and care
taken while conducting the exams. Such video was published on all Social Media
Information Technology Profession is upgrading practically every day. We at Pune ICAI has carried out
various initiatives for keeping our members future ready. In addition to our core practice various
upcoming professional opportunities were identified such as Insolvency and Bankruptcy, Valuation of
Business, Shares, Forensic Audit, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and many more. Lot of avenues are
knocking the doors of our profession. Revised Guidelines on Professional Ethics would be enacted on
w.e.f. July 1, 2020. We at Pune ICAI has been committed to keep our members abreast with latest
developments in profession.
1. Total CPE Hours Generated: Cumulatively 61,199 CPE Hours generated during the year for
Members.
2. Total Certificate Course Generated: Around 05 certificate course conducted attending by 250
Members.
3. Apart from CPE Program 37 Unstructured CPE Programs were conducted during lock down
attended by many members across India.
4. Abhishek Dhamne , Chairman of Pune ICAI has coordinated program Conducted by CLCGC and CMIB Committee of ICAI which
stalwarts like Adv. Harish Salve, Niranjan Hiranandani, Adv. Kunal Vajani, CA Ravi Pandit which
was attended by more than 5500 Members live.
5. Surveys: Abhishek Dhamne , Chairman of Pune ICAI Conducted various surveys such as
– Impact of Corona Virus on CAs in Pune
– CA Firms Adaptability to work from Home.
– Impact of COVID on entertainment industry
6. Corona Times Difficulties with Members: Initiated help desk for application forms with required
documentation to submit the claim of Corona virus hospitalization expenses at H.O with
dedicated manpower.
7. CMIB Career Placement Camp for Co-operative Sectors:
Interactive Meet with Officials of Cosmos Co-operative Bank at Cosmos Tower, Pune held on 24th
December 2020 in the presence of below dignitaries.

This meeting was conceptualized by Pune ICAI. In the meeting there was discussion held regarding
Need of CA Placement Program in Co-operative Sector. Accordingly, idea was coined for having
sperate placement Program for CO-operative Sector. Accordingly, for the 1st time CMIB had
started Placement program. We are glad to inform that, such for initiative taken by the Pune
Branch of WIRC of ICAI. It has created more than 132 Vacancies for 15 Co-op Banks and for the same more than 1301 candidates have registered.

10. Finance for CA Members: During the COVID 19 pandemic situation, conducted Bank Loan
Workshop for CA Members wherein 6 banks have offered various finance.
11. Contribution to ICAI Sponsorship: Many companies have contributed fund as a Sponsorship for
the ICAI International Conference.

13. Students Activities: More than 100 students’ activities carried out during the year.
14. Felicitation of Past Chairman: Conducted special felicitation program to tribute to our Past
chairman and their work towards the branch.
15. QUIZ For Members and Students: Conducted “Investors’ Knowledge Quest” (A National Level
Online Quest Competition) across ICAI Branches Jointly with NSE, total 3731 participants were
registered for the quiz.
16. KBCC: First time in the history of Pune ICAI, Virtual Kaun Banega Chatur Chanakya (KBCC)- Quiz
Competition for Students and hosted the same program with WIRC for students & Members.
17. International SMP Day: Help desk for MSME Registration was launched on International SMP Day
27th June 2020 a Video was demonstrating MSME Registration for CA firms was shared with all
Members.
18. Membership Drive: We had sent Mass SMS, email with procedure link to activate their
membership, conducted help desk to solve the various members issues. We are glad to inform we could cater to more than 500 Members with the help of Central Office.
Third ‘I’ stands for Infrastructure:
Abhishek Dhamne , Chairman of Pune ICAI we have worked towards better infrastructure in terms of Tangible as well as Intangible.
Tangible infrastructure has been dire need at Pune ICAI. We require an additional infrastructure wherein
we can have classrooms for Members and Students separately for carrying out various learning courses,
digital labs having state of the art IT facilities for learning new technologies. We have worked towards
Intangible infrastructure in the form of IVRS, better mechanism for resolving members’ and students’
queries, E-Seminar facilities for members. These things will make a great impact on development of the
profession.
I am hopeful that our vision of 3 I’s will bring out Futuristic WE i.e., us
1. Conducting Exams: Pune ICAI stand firmly with the directions and decision of ICAI, H.O for
conducting the CA Exam during the COVID-19 pandemic situation and it was strongly backed by
Pune ICAI managing committee members –Task Force and staff.
2. IVRS: Started the effective way of communication with vendors, members & students by using
the IVRS System via mobile from any locations instead of using the traditional landline phone
during the difficult time of COVID-19 lockdown.
3. Website: Done the revamp of www.puneicai.com website with more user friendly and enhanced
features.
4. Mobile App: Synchronous the website with Mobile App for easy access.
5. LED: Replaced the old CFLs’ lightings to new LEDs’ to save the electricity and cost of replacement.
6. Shifting data to Cloud: To access the data remotely from any locations, ideally suitable for work
from home during the COVID-19 lockdown period.
7. Use of Net Banking in an effective way: All the vendors, faculties, staff salaries and other payment
processed via CMS-Net banking during the lockdown period as it was very difficult to transact
manually.
8. Work from Home for staff: Provided all support related to IVRS, Data to Cloud, Mobile & Laptops
for staff to work efficiently from home during the lockdown period.
9. Installation of 20 MPBS Leased line: More stable internet connectivity and as per the future
requirement installed the lease line instead of old internet connection.
10. Beautification of the Premises: Done the repairing of wear and tear parts of premises along with
plantation and other beautification of premises to look more attractive & useful.
11. Additional Space at University of Pune at very nominal rent: To expand the wings of Pune ICAI
tied up with Pune University for additional space for ICAI Classes and other activities.
12. Reaching out to government Land for additional space: To cater current and futuristic needs of
our Students and Members, Pune ICAI approached State Government, Local Authority, respective
Development Authorities of such Government(s) including municipalities, panchayats etc. for
suitable government Land/Building premises for additional space.
